Leger's Reunion by Lacey Dearie

Returning to Glasgow after a brief spell in his new island home has left Leger feeling homesick and heartbroken. His son and daughter have grown up without him, his beloved Ginger has found a new tom and a thief is running amok in the area while his former sidekick, Amber, is uninterested in catching the culprit. On the plus side, the extra pounds he gained during his brief retirement have done nothing to ruin his appeal with the local mollies.

Leger faces uneasy choices. Should he help Amber collect clues and point her in the right direction? How can he win back Ginger? Did he make the right choice when he chose to retire at such a young age?

This is the first story in a festive trilogy and will be followed by Leger's Lights and Leger's Miracle.

New Review of BENTLEY SQUARE

Format:Kindle Edition
I was captivated with the story from the very beginning, the interactions of Becca and Richard, the fleeting connections, the daydreams that become truths, the mysterious connection between the two, all this totally had me invested from the very beginning. The characters are developed so much you truly get a great understanding of the conflicts and perspectives, a lot of the narrative reminded me of Mad-Men and I really felt that this is a perfect story for a Hollywood movie adaptation. At the end I really felt that I had read a real classic and have already recommended this to my friends, you will not be disappointed with this gripping and truly entertaining love story.

Excerpt from Blind Tasting
He sighed. “Back in high school. She dumped me for the quarterback. From there I never wanted to get too close to anyone. It hurt.”
Becca’s heart ached for him. “And that’s where your reputation began?”
“Guess so. But I was young and thought I was in love. Not like you. I can only imagine the hurt you felt.” He moved closer to her. His hand gently touched her face. Any hurt she’d experienced disappeared with his touch. His eyes watched her lips part. “May I kiss my lady?”
Becca smiled. “I’d like that.”
His lips were as soft as she imagined. The taste of his kiss made her wonder why she waited so long. She wanted to kiss him six months ago at the cafe. His fingers played with her hair and briefly touched the skin on her neck. He deepened the kiss. She followed his lead and moved in closer. She felt his heartbeat against hers. Becca opened her eyes when the kiss ended.
He smiled. “Hungry?” Chase made her a plate of chicken and salad and fed her the first bite. “Hope my lady likes it.”
“You are a very talented man.” Becca took the plate from him.
He grabbed a plate for himself. “I hope that remark includes the kiss.”
“Oh, the food is great too.”
Chase laughed. “Thank you.”

MOON SHADOWS by Kenzie Mack

5.0 out of 5 stars Tight, Suspenseful, Well-WrittenSeptember 3, 2014

This review is from: Moon Shadows: A Reader's Choice (Moon Series Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
Moon Shadows by Kenzie Mack is a new take on love at first sight. Our handsome hero went out for a jog, encountered great danger, and found the love/lust of his life. Kenzie constructed the story to allow the reader to choose the path and degree of hotness of the story. A tight, suspenseful, well-written paranormal love story. Can't wait for the next installment.

New Work from Artist Reina Cottier

Good Morning, Gentle Readers,
I have another very special treat for you this first day of October, something to surely brighten up your day.  One of Vision and Verse's favorite artists, the very talented Reina Cottier, has some new work to share with us, and it is lovely, lovely, lovely.  Enjoy!
Hugs,
Carol

1/Koru Royal

My inspiration for this piece was to create

something with a more regal,
look to it, something that looked 'priceless' or 'collectable', I also love the idea of cool tones and warm tones together, so wanted to design a piece where I could combine everything. The koru (meaning: new life & harmony) is nearly always a shape I start with to get my 'flow' going with my paintings, and this one just went so smoothly from beginning to end. The cools of the greys/blues contrasting against the gold really makes it pop. I was delighted with the outcome, softs hazey edges with crisp fine detailing. Its all about the contrast & flow.

2/ Owl

This wee chap just emerged one day, I knew it was going to be an owl, but no idea just 'how'. I wanted a detailed koru
(meaning :new life and harmony) to represent his body, so I started with that first, and once I had that done, the rest just presented itself very quickly. I also wanted the contrast of the white and black and to keep the 'colour' side of it very simple, I didnt want some very vibrant contrasting colours to outweigh the detail on him.

3/

 Tribal Moon
This piece was inspired by the very full moon we had a couple of months ago, it was so big and bright in the sky.
I love the fusion of tribal meets nature, hence the abstract symbols tribal markings , maori & pacifica inspired, scattered thru the painting. I wanted to create a dynamic vibrant peice where the moon was the focal point but the backdrop (night sky & stars) and forefront (flora) played a key role too.
I feel I achieved this.
