Ruby Lips by Parker Kaufman

Dear Gentle Readers,

Today our own Parker Kaufman is here to share with us a new art piece recently completed.  This beauty is entitled RUBY LIPS  and is a 9" x12" work consisting of 35 hand-cut shapes of cardstock affixed in layers to a foam board base.

Parker says the motivation behind RUBY LIPS stems from the desire to trick the eye. By using only fragments of an image, one's brain fills in what the eye does not see, allowing one to imagine a complete image.

Well, however my brain filled in the image, I just love this piece. It reminds me of a 1930's beauty, maybe an actress, or a chorus line dancer. I loved the era of glamour it evoked.

I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I do!
Hugs,
Carol
