Red Sarah by Carol Ann Kauffman

Red Sarah
by Carol Ann Kauffman

Sarah is a beautiful redhead who works for a special agency that fixes broken timelines and rescues historically significant people who are in trouble. She has a special set of skills that allow her to 'tap' someone out of a dangerous situation. Her present assignment is to find and rescue a prince whose son eliminates hunger and disease on his island nation.

“Save the Prince; save the King; and save the Reds. In doing so, Red Sarah may just save herself, who knows, but what might be the cost? Moving from modern day wisecrackery to a time of romance long ago, Carol Ann Kauffman’s tale is filled with majesty and bravery. This time travel story is a gift for all.” - Amazon Review

“Sarah has one job and that is to rescue Crown Prince Lucas of Mist from captivity in a dungeon. Yet everything is not as it seems and will Sarah be able to stop an upcoming war?
This was an interesting book about time travel and trying not to disrupt the time continuum. I liked Sarah and it was interesting on where her and Lucas ended up.”

It varies but I would say overall I get inspiration from locations. My series are all set in locations I love. Lake Tahoe, San Juan Islands, Alaska, Hawaii, South Carolina Island, Oregon Coast, Montana.

Take a walk until an idea occurs to me. It usually doesn’t take long.

My husband. We are high school sweethearts who basically grew up together. I think we influenced each other at every point along the way.

Just do it. The only way to publish a novel is to put your butt in the seat and write it. Wishing you could publish a novel will get you nowhere without taking action.

BOOK REVIEW: The Magic of Murder by Susan Lynn Solomon

When his partner is discovered in a frozen alley with eight bullets in his chest, Niagara Falls Police Detective Roger Frey swears vengeance. But Detective Chief Woodward has forbidden him or anyone else on the detective squad to work the case. Emlyn Goode knows Roger will disobey his boss, which will cost him his job and his freedom. Because she cares for him more than she’ll admit, she needs to stop him. Desperate, she can think of but one way.

Emlyn recently learned she’s a direct descendant of a woman hanged as a witch in 1692. She has a book filled with arcane recipes and chants passed down through her family. Possessed of, or perhaps by a vivid imagination, she intends to use these to solve Jimmy’s murder before Roger takes revenge on the killer. But she’s new to this “witch thing,” and needs help from her friend Rebecca Nurse, whose ancestor also took a short drop from a Salem tree. Rebecca’s not much better at deciphering the ancient directions, and while the women stumble over spell after spell, the number possible killers grows. When Chief Woodward’s wife is shot and a bottle bomb bursts through Emlyn’s window, it becomes clear she’s next on the killer’s list.

My Review of The Magic of Murder:
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Magic of Murder by Susan Lynn Solomon. A woman comes to possess a book written by an ancestor with uncanny powers. This sets our heroine Emlyn on the path to solving a murder, gaining a friend, a boyfriend, and a cat along the way. Loved the Niagara Falls locale. Suspenseful and well written, this cozy mystery takes you on a bewitching trip as the body count and excitement rise to a satisfying ending. Is there a Book 2?
