BOOK: Charming Deception by Carol Ann Kauffman

Samantha wakes up to a perfect life, with a handsome, attentive husband she doesn't remember. She has it all: a luxury vehicle, designer clothes, beautiful jewelry, and a condo on the beach.

But this isn't the life she remembers. She remembers a life as a single woman who works for a trucking company in a dull, dusty town in nowhere Ohio.

As time go by, Samantha discovers she is the object of an elaborate deception, one large enough to include, other worlds, body doubles, time travel, world-hopping, and a galaxy guardian as cold as ice.

Is her sweet, handsome, charming husband in on this deception?

TV TIME: All Nighter (Netflix)

This was really good after a bit of a slow start. Once again, J.K. Simmons delivers a powerful, but sensitive performance that drives the story as a father trying to connect with his adult daughter. The daughter is missing and Dad teams up with her old boyfriend to search for her.

NOTE FROM CAROL: Vision and Verse's Twelfth Anniversary

It is so hard for me to believe it's been twelve years since Texas Collage Artist Parker Kaufman and I began this little adventure in blogging! Neither of us knew too much about blogs, but we had a vision of what we wanted to project. One word: Inspiration.

A few years ago, Parker stepped away from Vision and Verse to concentrate on his art. And although I understood completely how much time our blog took away from pursuing our own artistic endeavors, I missed his daily wisdom and humor and input. I still do. But I know he's only a text away when I need him.

Parker and I were told the two worst things to blog about were art and writing and not to expect much. Those subjects were dry and boring. Nobody wants to see or read about other new artist's and author's work. Twelve years later, Vision and Verse is still here and rocking it, even in the face of the audio podcast. Some people still prefer to read a written interview.

Our weekly schedule is posted on
Sunday for the following week.
Monday is always an Art post. (The Vision)
Tuesday is Book Review day.
Wednesday is an interview with an artist or author, when available.
If none are available, I may post a recipe.
Thursday I post a review of something from the Entertainment world- a movie, TV show, or series.
Friday brings you an article on one of the books I’ve written.
(The Verse)

So, if you are one of the over 612, 923 people who pop in to see what's happening here, I want to thank you. I appreciate you. I see you have discerning taste!

Stay safe in this crazy world,
Carol

ART: Claude Monet, More than Waterlilies

Everybody knows Claude Monet’s Waterlilies. But there is so much more to the father of the impressionist movement than gorgeous waterlilies.
