FREE Today! The Baslicato

Dear Gentle Readers,

Just a short note this morning to let you know THE BASLICATO is free at

for those of you who don't already have this wild ride from tall, handsome, passive, British actor to short, wild, crazy Italian race car driver with a wife who hates him. In walks his American doctor, who just happen to be... his wife in, oh, you'll have to read the book to find out.

Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Carol

Vision and Verse Surpasses 86,000 Pageviews

Dear Gentle Readers,

I am pleased to announce Vision and Verse, the Place for Art and Authors, has surpassed 86,000 page views as we look forward to its third anniversary on April 15, 2016.

Begun in 2013 by Texas collage artist Parker Kaufman and Ohio author Carol Ann Kauffman, (no relation by the way, well, we are kindred spirits) as an avenue to showcase the creativity and inspiration in the art and literature of today's up-and-coming artists and authors, as well as the masters of the past, and to kick-start that creative spirit in us all, Vision and Verse continues today as a hub of activity in the fields of contemporary art and literary fiction.

Thank you to each and every one of you who stops by to see what's happening here. Without you, we are one big journal entry.

Hugs,
Carol

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Dear Gentle Readers,

I wish I could tell you I have all kinds of great things planned for  the third anniversary of Vision and Verse, the Place for Art and Authors, but I don't.

Of course, I am thrilled and excited to still be here. I do have some great author interviews lined up. I'm chasing down a few terrific artists for a few minutes of their time to share their work. And I have a few free book days coming up.

There will be another great post from Parker Kaufman, the terrific Texas collage artist who started this little blog with me nearly three years ago. Our wonderful Parker left to devote more time to his art. This online stuff can be a real time-sucker. I know. And there will be some kind of giveaway. I just don't know what yet.

So stay tuned for the exciting details, which I will share with you as soon as I know them.

Thank you for stopping by every day to see what's happening in the our world of today's artists and authors.  You are appreciated.

Hugs,
Carol

Note: This is actually my shamrock plant. It looks like death warmed over most of the time, but magically comes to life and blooms like crazy in the middle of March. How does it know?

The Work of American Metal Sculptor Christopher Weed

This gorgeous, eye-catching powder-coated steel beauty is the work of the very talented American sculptor, Christopher Weed.

His work is very well-known in the American West, with pieces on display in Denver and throughout Colorado.

I had the privilege of viewing this spectacular piece in person at the Museum of Art in Colorado Springs, Colorado last spring.

This giant purple orb draws you to it, bringing to mind some fascinating scientific object... or maybe a squishy toy... or a kidney stone... or an alien spacecraft from Doctor Who, all at the same time.

Once you see a "Weed" in person, you never forget it.
