From the Pages of Grandfather's Life

From the Pages of Grandfather's Life (Kindle Edition)
This is a grandfather's true story of his frightening and perilous journey to freedom from occupied Poland behind the Iron Curtain in 1913. So many of these true stories of our family member's bravery have been lost because they didn't want to talk about. It is a tiny glimpse into a man's soul.

Dear Gentle Readers,
From the Pages of Grandfather's Life is simply that, a small narrative surrounding Viv Drewa's grandfathers brave run to freedom. I have gifted this book to the male winners of my contests who don't read romantic fiction, and the only complaint I've heard is that it was too short and they wanted to read more.
Hugs,
Carol

When You Wish Upon a Demon by Joanne Boyd

When You Wish Upon a Demon is the story of Trent, an average American teen, and his secret life as a Demon Hunter. Ms. Boyd has created a lovable, realistic hero in Trent that is destined to become a classic in his further adventures. As a retired teacher, I'm always looking for great reads to recommend to my colleagues still in the classroom, and this is one of them. Ms. Boyd takes the universal unspoken desire to be a hero, and coupled it in a modern-day high school situation, and then threw DEMONS into the mix. Well written and fast paced, an enjoyable YA tale that will appeal to all. More please, Ms. Boyd.

Forgiven Love by B. Maddox

Forgiven Love is the terrific debut novel of B. Maddox and I can't wait for more. In this story, typical teenager Jocelyn is madly in love with her handsome boyfriend, Hunter, who has a severe family crisis and runs off to joins the Navy, leaving her pregnant. Fast forward years ahead, and single mother of twins working for a security company, Jocelyn must decide if she can forgive him and move their relationship up to something more, or not. Touching, emotional storyteller. And hot.

And I hear the further adventures of Jocelyn and Hunter and the Phoenix Security Co. are on their way!

Have a great day. Go read something.
Hugs,
Carol

HACKER'S RAID by Jared McVay

HACKER'S RAID by Jared McVay

After a seven year exile, Justin Hacker returns to his hometown of Nogales, Arizona to try to break his younger brother out of a Mexican prison where he awaits the hangman’s noose for crimes he didn’t commit. But first, Justin must overcome certain obstacles - such as a town bully, a Mexican bandito and his gang, an Indian attack, a father who has vowed to shoot him on site should he ever return, and match wits with a maniacal prison warden who hates gringos. And if that isn’t enough, after several twists of fate, Justin leads the whole town back across the border in an attempt to rescue both, his father and uncle from the dreaded Mexican prison where they now await the hangman’s noose.

HACKER’S RAID is a fast moving page turner with non-stop action that keeps you asking, “What’s going to happen next.”

Happy Easter

Dear Gentle Readers,

Wishing a peaceful and beautiful Easter Sunday. Now walk away from that computer or put down that phone, tablet, whatever, and go interact with someone you care about, because the bottom line is...it's all about love. The rest is fleeting.

Take this holiday of hope and renewal as an opportunity to reconnect with what is truly important in life: the love you have and the love you share.

Hugs,
Carol
