FREE Today! Bentley Square by Carol Ann Kauffman

Dear Gentle Readers,

My Romantic Action Adventure Mystery, Bentley Square, is FREE today at http://tinyurl.com/laudaku on Amazon.com.

Strangers meet on the train. She, a beautiful, wealthy businesswoman. He, a down on his luck office manager. They have nothing in common. And yet, they are drawn to each other with an undeniable hypnotic magnetism. This is the story of Rebecca Robbins, daughter of one of the wealthiest men in the country and Mark Ramsay, a man shrouded in dark mystery and hiding in the shadows from death squads amid international intrigue.

This is a full length Time After Time novel.

The series, TIME AFTER TIME, follows a pair of quintessential lovers, Richard and Nicole, through their lives together, in different places, in different times, with different names and faces and sometimes even on other planets. This follows the alternative theory that the relationships we forge in this lifetime, both the good and the bad, are continued into the future, and are rooted deeply in our past. Whatever we do, whomever we love, and the good and evil deeds we do today follow us into the future. Unsettled issues will present themselves again and again, until they are ultimately resolved. Those people who have had a profound effect on us in this lifetime will find us again in the future. And although everything changes, love remains.

I think you'll enjoy it!
Hugs,
Carol

Parker Townsend raised his children alone after he lost his beloved wife to cancer. When his two little hellions placed a ‘Mom Wanted’ ad in the local paper, Parker found himself roped into an unwanted blind date.
Claire Lauer answered the want ad with few expectations and met Parker on Valentine’s Day, a day she hated with a passion. As an animal rights activist and a divorcĂ©e, she felt more comfortable with a placard in her hand than in the company of a handsome man with emotional baggage.
After a protest takes a turn for the worse, she seeks shelter in her date’s arms and loses time in his bed. Will Parker and Claire find the courage to lay their fragile hearts on the chopping block by morning, or will they forever live in a world of gray?

Excerpt

“You’re not a coward.” Claire gripped the steering wheel hard as she parked her beige car across the street from the Italian restaurant. A few minutes ahead of schedule, she stayed inside the warm vehicle and listed aloud all the reasons why she’d agreed to the date. As it stood, she couldn’t remember more than two. “Don’t drive off. Could you really stand a man up on Valentine’s Day? Just give him a chance.”
She pried her hands off the wheel, grabbed her clutch purse and opened the car door before she lost her nerve. Beautiful shades of purple streaked across the darkening sky and a cool, soothing breeze ruffled her hair. Car exhaust filled her lungs as an old station wagon chugged by and she bit her tongue to not shout a few greenhouse statistics at the driver. Her friend, Marybeth, definitely would have. Claire hurried across the asphalt to reach the awning of the two-story building and a well-dressed doorman opened the door for her. She wished Parker hadn’t suggested the uber-romantic La Volare Giardino. She loved to window shop in this side of town, but she couldn’t afford anything in the boutiques.
If he flashes money at me and offers to get a room, I’m outta here.
Unlike her mother’s ridiculous claim, Claire would savor a few words of love compared to gifts but she didn’t know or love the man she planned to meet. Hell, she wasn’t sure if she even liked him but she couldn’t stand another Valentine’s Day alone. She’d been on several first dates since her divorce, a few second dates but no thirds, and none on February 14th. Her friends usually helped her forget her single status as they protested or shared dinner, but her failure as a wife sometimes clogged her throat as she tried to sleep in her comfy bed. A simple date might make all the difference in the world to how she slept tonight.
If Parker proved to be a gentleman.

About the Author

Writing is the fruit to happiness.
Amber Daulton lives her life by that one belief even though she normally isn’t so Zen.

Author of several novellas, she published her first book in 2012 and hopes to publish countless more in the future. As a fan of contemporary, paranormal and historical romance novels alike, she can’t get enough of feisty heroines and alpha heroes. Her mind is a wonderland of adventure, laughter and awesome ways of kicking a guy when he’s down. She probably wouldn’t be too sane without her computer and notebooks. After all, what’s a girl to do when there are people jabbering away in her head and it’s hard to shut them up? Write! Nothing else works.

The Work of Dutch Artist Suzan Drummen

The Artwork of Suzan Drummen

This gorgeous circular artwork is like giant floor jewelry.  I have never seen anything like the work of Dutch artist Suzan Drummen.

Suzan Drummen is a visual arts teacher in the Netherlands.  Some have called her work psychedelic.  The beads, stones, mirrors, etc. are placed loosely on the floor, making them ethereal and very vulnerable to destruction.

Side-view of Suzan's work look like giant sundaes with cherries on the top.  The must be viewed from above to get the full effect.

From this website you can view many multidisciplinary works in the media of painting, photography, installation and public art. The works are a playful investigation of space, illusion, optical effects and other visual phenomena as part of a broad exploration of visual perception and the limits of beauty. There is an ongoing inquiry into the limits of seduction and repulsion.
The installations for example, are made from crystal, chrome-plated metal, precious stones, mirrors and optical glass. From a distance they appear clear and orderly, yet upon closer inspection, the eyes become disoriented by the many details and visual stimuli. That moment, of being able to take it all in or not, is explored, time and time again. The visual perception is challenged, requisitioned and intensified.

This website features a selection of the work, in chronological order, with the most recent work at the top.

Thanks to: family, friends, fellow artists, exhibition curators, art advisors, clients, commissioners, architects and those involved in the production and realisation of the works.

Developing my own visual work is the main thing I do, but many other activities such as teaching, being member of art committees and initiate new art projects are so interwoven that I can hardly make a distinction between my activities. It is a great a stream of actions, meetings and findings that fertilize each other immensely."

The fabulous Dutch Artist Suzan Drummen uses a very special canvas for her work.  She uses the floor!  She uses crystals, chromed metals, precious stones, mirrors, and faceted optical lens to make large scale murals using complex circular patterns, reminding me of Tibetian sand painting... and the circular written language of Gallifrey.di
