Some Amazon Reviews:

Wow! What an wonderful, thoughtful book. It has inspired me to do a similar creation solely for my granddaughter so she can know what a wonderful person her mother was.

Melina has a life-threatening heart condition and is pregnant. The doctor has told her to continue the pregnancy will probably kill her. Melina chooses to give the baby life. She knows her unborn daughter and will never give up the hope of having her. Being realistic, she also knows she may never know the sweet girl she is carrying. Therefore she writes a journal to her. Family recipes are interspersed with facts of life. She makes sure her love will be known by her daughter.

Great read, tears flow freely in many places. Wonderful family dynamics! Well written, thank you for this touching book.

First book I've read by this author, I was not disappointed!
As you read this book you wonder how it will end. Will the mother be right or will there be a surprise ending? You'll have to read the book to find out. What a bonus with the added recipes. They come from an Italian wife. Being married to an Italian and I love to cook, I can't wait to try some of these dishes and pass them to our children. My mother in law did not cook, so we do not have the handed down, generation after generation recipes. Maybe a tradition will be started with my family and I will pass these on? I just ordered book two to see how the story continues and ends. I can't wait to start reading it!   -he sustains

Echo of a Heartbreak is an excellent book. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the life lessons given in this book as well as the down to earth recipes Carol gave the readers. Unfortunately, I was in tears as I reread this book. However I am relieved the essence of Melina lives on in her daughter in McKelvey House. I am going to try some of the recipes that are clearly given in this book. The author cleverly goes from story line into her enclosed recipes. I have reread this book several times and enjoy it every time. Thank You.    - Jeanie49

ENTERTAINMENT: Cold Zone (Netflix)

This film, Cold Zone, has horrible reviews. “As exciting as used coffee grounds.” And then there was “Did the writers and producer get paid for this? Well, they shouldn’t have.”

That said, it was a slow evening for live TV. I’d already streamed all the Witcher, Wheel of Time, etc.  So I gave it a chance.

I liked it. Yes, some of the acting was reminiscent of primary school plays, where bad acting is incredibly cute on a seven-year old.

The plot was similar to all the weather apocalypse movies out there. But some of it was really good! The guy I liked best got frozen to death, though.

This is difficult to say just one person – however, I will say for now my father – who taught me patience. He was an artist and taught me how to paint, how to go after my passion and to believe in myself.

If you could sit down and have a conversation with ONE person, living or dead, real or fictional, who would it be and why?

I would love one more conversation with my dad and to share my accomplishments with him.

Just do it!  Start by writing down your thoughts and feelings and it will eventually all come together.

BOOK REVIEW: The Treasure at Poldarrow Point by Clara Benson

Oh, I loved this one! Not Benson’s typical English Country Manor Murder Mystery (which I love), this one was about a missing treasure, colorful jewel thieves, and rough and ready characters. Plus, Angela gets a little romance in this one. A total escape to the beautiful coast of Cornwall for an entertaining mystery.
