P. Buckley Moss

Patricia Buckley was born on May 20, 1933 on Staten Island, New York, USA.  As a child, she struggled in school and was diagnosed with dyslexia, but was very good in Art.  After graduating from Washington Irving High School for Fine Arts in Manhattan, New York, she attended Cooper Union College.

Graduating in 1955, she married chemical engineer, Jack Moss.  Years later, Jack got transferred and moved his family of seven plus one on the way to Waynesboro, Virginia.

The beautiful rural countryside and the quaint Amish communities inspired Patricia's beautiful pastoral compositions.

In 1979 she divorced Jack Moss and in 1982 she married business manager Malcolm Henderson.

In 1998 Charles Kuralt referred to her as "The People's Artist", a moniker she cherished.  In 1999 she opened the P. Buckley Moss Museum in Waynesboro, Virginia.

She also founded the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education to aid children with learning disabilities.  She has won numerous art and humanitarian awards.  P. Buckley Moss is 81 years old.
