Hello!
My name is Carol Ann Kauffman.
Here are some quirky facts about me:
1. I used to have an irrational fear of spiders. But then I discovered if you spray them with hair spray, it stiffens up their little legs so they can't chase you. I now keep a bottle of hair spray in the basement.
2. I was the spelling champ in grade school (momentarily) so when you see easy words misspelled in one of my books, please know that I know better and blame the ghost in the machine, as I do.
3. When I was a little girl, my father told me I was a very bad liar because when I lied it was written on my face, so I always cover my forehead with my hand when I lie.
4. I rubbed chicken nuggets all over my hands right before I went in to pick up my new puppy so he would come to me and like me. Yes, I am not above such fast food trickery. And yes, it worked. Sixteen years later, he still loves his mama.
5. I like to cook. That doesn't mean everything I make is delicious, or even edible. It's just a hobby in the kitchen involving measuring spoons and cups and equations.
6. I like trains. I go to trains shows whenever I can. Nobody puts on makeup or does their hair to go to a train show. Actually, I'm not quite sure there are other people at these train shows, but the trains are wonderful!
I'm giving away:
An autographed copy of Sea Witch, my latest full-length sci-fi novel. It won the silver medal in the AUTHORS db 2015 Cover Contest. It's about a scientist and a mermaid, but this mermaid is no Ariel. What a love story!

I can't, and shouldn't, cook. The kitchen and I are not pals. I'm okay over an open fire outside, but the whole indoor with a stove thing... nooo.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read this book @
ReplyDeleteI am terrified of Popsicle sticks or rather wooden utensils or sticks touching my tongue! I also have difficulty watching other people enjoy Popsicles.A fear I inherited from my Dad who is also afraid of them!
