4.0 out of 5 stars A Sweet Valentine Read January 24, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
What could be more romantic than finding love in the tropical paradise of Hawaii? Dani Cabral, a creative shadow box maker, isn't about to let her ample hips ruin her chances of a big wedding on Valentines Day. All she needs now is the right guy. Local ranch hand, Joe Domingos has been Dani's best friend since childhood and thinks "he's" the right guy. Unfortunately, surf shop worker and banker keep getting in the way. Well written prose with witty dialogue make this story a fun easy read with a surprise at the end that brought tears to my eyes and made me smile.

Refreshing to have a setting in rural Hawaii where ranching is a big part of the lifestyle. These are characters whose lives you want to hear about and see what happens next for them. My 93 year old mother enjoyed it! Would make a great movie!

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful, romantic read February 25, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Only on Valentine's Day is a delightful, sweet romantic read. I read it while traveling on a plane and found myself smiling and at the same time trying to avoid tears. Dani Cabral is a determined young woman with a definite plan for when and how she will be married. Being raised on a ranch in Hawaii and marrying a cowboy is not in her plan. To achieve this marriage plan she goes to the city where she meets several possible suitable men, After some disappointing results, she finds that the true love of her life has always been on the ranch. The author has implied sexual situations without being graphic. which is refreshing. I will watch for future stories by Jackie Marilla.
