His father is murdered, and Gus is left to fend for himself until he happens upon a Texas cattle drive, bound for Deadwood. He is rescued and attempts to avenge his father’s murder with the help of an ornery cook named Toots and Calamity Jane.

Run to Danger: Gus is betrayed by a wrangler from the Circle H Ranch who is the leader of a gang of rustlers who have stolen a sizeable herd to sell in Mexico. One by one, Gus eliminates the rustlers but is wounded. An aging Apache war chief befriends him and treats his wounds. Together, they take back the stolen Longhorns and drive the herd back to the Hamilton homestead.
