Oh, this is so good! Dark Winds is a six-part series based on a series of books by Tony Hillerman called Leaphorn and Chee. The talented Zahn McClarnon stars as Navajo Police Lt. Joe Leaphorn. Zahn never disappoints.
At the beginning of the series, he is investigating a double murder in a motel room where an old Navajo woman and her granddaughter were conducting a medicine ceremony to help an ill Navajo man. The Navajo man and the granddaughter were murdered.
The scenery is the breathtakingly beautiful American Southwest.
The acting is terrific. The storylines are all wrapped up in psychological thrills, double crosses, and Native American spiritualism. The characters are so well written, they leap off the screen.
