Just East of Key West was a short story written by Tom Winston. It was the story of an old man who had lost the joy of living. He felt the best of life was behind him. He felt that even the joy of remembering those good days long ago just wasn’t enough anymore.
So he drives down to the Key West area one morning in the fog to attempt to claim some lost joy in life by fishing for some big brute of a fish from his favorite bridge with his old and frayed fishing gear. And he discovers some interesting things along the way.
Interesting. Unusual. It held my attention.
