BOOK REVIEW: An Opening Nightmare by John Gaspard

In this Como Lake Players Short Mystery by John Gaspard,  an audience member is stabbed to death in the third row on the opening night of a new play at the local amateur theater. The director, who is also a cast member because of a last minute opening, “ acts” as a super sleuth to discover the murderer in this cute, short story about relationships, actors, and directions.

For a short story, there was surprising character depth and storyline. Anybody who loves hometown theater productions and summer stock will love this little gem.
