This was a fun one to write. Amazon had a short-lived episodic reading program fashioned after the very successful ones in Asia and some parts of Europe.
I released an episode a week or sometimes every few days. Readers bought tokens and paid per episode.
The idea never took off here and Amazon abandoned “Vella”, but not before I wrote The Painter, as well as a few others.
