Murder at River Run Inn by Sloane Foster was a cute, cozy mystery about a woman and her dog, a chihuahua named Taco, on their way to start a new life.
Retired English teacher Marnie Devlin is on her way to a new job in Willow Springs. She is excited about opening a vintage dress shop in the new town.
On the way, bad weather and a flooded bridge make it necessary for Marnie and Taco to spend a night at River Run Inn, where a severe story forces the hotel guests into the basement for safety. A power outage. Darkness. A scream. A dead body thuds to the floor.
When the lights come back on, everybody is a suspect. Marnie uses her listening skills and attention to detail to try to discover the killer’s identity.
