BOOK REVIEW: The Bookstore Sisters by Alice Hoffman

The Bookstore Sisters was a short story about two sisters who grew up on an island where their father owned a bookstore. Fast forward many years, the parents are now deceased.

One sister has remained on the island, doing all those traditional daughter, island, bookstore things. Her husband is now deceased. She has a child.

The other sister ran away because she wanted to have a different life, away from the island.

One day run-away sister gets a note from the island. It says “Help!”.

This was a touching story about sisters. If you have a sister, you’ll like this story.
