Oh, this was a good one! A Murder on WallStreet by Owen Parr is the first in a series called Joey Mancuso Father O’Brian Crime Mystery Series. Joey and the priest are brothers, half-brothers to be precise. One Italian. One Irish. One a former New York City police department homicide detective. One a priest. And they own a bar together. This bar is on Wall Street.
Many colorful characters pass through the doors of the bar, among them a Wall Street wheeler dealer (my term) and his Marilyn Monroe look-alike girlfriend, who are celebrating a big new account he got and are off to Portugal the next afternoon.
However, the next morning his body is discovered on the landing near his office window, from where it looks like he jumped.
Wonderful, multi-layered, believable characters and a great plot make this a novel who can get lost in.
I am off to start Book Two.
