ART: American Sculptor Louise Nevelson

Okay, I will admit I never heard of Louise Nevelson before watching CBS Sunday Morning. But her iconic sculptures were unique and interesting. There were large wooden wall pieces that were giant collages of rough-cut small pieces, evoking an organic steampunky feeling.

Louise was a Ukrainian immigrant who settled in Maine with her family in the early 1900s.

According to her granddaughter Maria, Louise continued making art her whole life, doing some of her best work in her 70s and 80s.
