Death Decanted by Lara Bowen was a beautifully written cozy mystery to introduce her Ridgehaven Cozy Mystery series. Our main character, Lyla Berns, has retired from a corporate IT job and is moving to a small town to sell antiques. As she’s packing, she comes across a beautifully etched decanter she bought for her new store. As she is handling it and admiring it, she notices there is something inside.
Inside she discovers the codicil to a deceased wealthy woman’s will. With a little digging, she finds out this amendment was written a few days prior to the woman’s untimely fatal accident. Lyla sets out to discover the truth behind a woman’s fatal fall and, if possible, right a wrong.
